HOW TO SCORE

Dream Tour money will be only awarded for the 38 Golf Tournaments as published by The Irish Times. Tournaments shall be divided into three categories for the purposes of the competition. Tournaments shall fall into category A, unless otherwise stated, beside the name of the event in the accompanying list. For category A events Dream Tour money will be awarded to the first 50 golfers (including ties) on the following basis -

  • 1st place €100,000,
  • 2nd place €80,000,
  • 3rd place €70,000,
  • 4th place €60,000,
  • 5th place €55,000,
  • 6th place €50,000,
  • 7th place €45,000,
  • 8th place €41,000,
  • 9th place €38,000,
  • 10th place € 35,000.

Money awarded will then decline by €2,000 per place until 15th (€25,000); by €1,000 until 25th (€15,000) then in amounts declining by €500 per place until 50th (€2,500).

Where ties occur in the official tournament results Dream Tour money shall be shared among players e.g. if two players tie for second place, each player receives (€80,000 + €70,000)÷ 2 = €75,000. In the event of more than 50 players sharing in a tournament’s Dream Tour prize money due to ties, each additional player shall initially receive a minimum of €2,500 which shall then be pooled and shared equally among all tied players. For the purpose of this competition amateur golfers shall be treated in the same manner as professional entrants in the 38 tournaments specified.

All players making the cut shall be guaranteed €1,500 while all golfers participating but failing to make the cut - including those events in which fewer than 50 players qualify - shall receive €500. Golfers failing to return cards for the opening two rounds shall be deemed not to have played at all for the purposes of the competition.

All prize money in Bonus (B) events shall be one-and-a half times that awarded for regular tournaments.

All prize money in the four ’Majors’ (M) shall be twice that awarded for regular tournaments.

An Irish player winning any of the events staged in Ireland shall receive €400,000.

The notional cash prizes awarded to players on The Irish Times scale, and not those won in the actual tour events, shall count for the purposes of the competition.
