Irish Times Golf Masters 2008 Terms of Play

  1. All entries for Golf Masters must be entered online or on the special phone line before midnight on Wednesday, April 9th 2008
  2. You may enter as often as you like and multiple entries, up to a maximum of five, can be made on the same call or email. The computer's record of your entry will be considered to be the entry. No responsibility will be accepted for incorrect recording of entries.
  3. Your team of seven Golfers can only be chosen from the list of Players published by The Irish Times. You can spend up to €12.5 million: if you go over this, your entry will not be valid and the call will be terminated immediately. If you enter online your entry will not be accepted until it is within the given budget. Applications by hand, post or fax will not be accepted at any stage. No correspondence will be entered into.
  4. Dream Tour money will be allocated for the 38 tournaments as specified by The Irish Times. In the event of a tournament being abandoned or shortened e.g. to three rounds, Dream Tour money will be awarded according to the official result only. If a tournament is postponed until after September 7th 2008, it will be deemed not to count for the competition.
  5. The leading teams and weekly prizewinners will be published every Thursday by The Irish Times for the duration of the competition. Prizewinners will be contacted by post and/or email and/or telephone. There is no cash alternative to weekly prizes.
  6. Dream Tour money will be awarded on official tournament placings at the conclusion of the final round. Any subsequent disqualification or alteration of placings will not count for the purposes of the competition.
  7. Exclusive weekly prizes will be awarded to the player whose team of golfers has the highest amount of accumulated Dream Team money that week. In the event of two contestants being tied for the weekly prize the player whose team cost the least amount, based on The Irish Times valuations, shall be deemed to be the winner. If this does not decide the matter then a tiebreaker shall be arranged.
  8. The overall first prize is €20,000 and will be awarded to the player whose team has the highest amount of accumulated Dream Team money at the end of the competition, i.e. September 7th. Second prize is €7,000. Third prize is €3,000. In all circumstances, however, Dream Tour money is awarded on official tournament placings. Misprints and computer malfunctions are overruled in favour of 'Official Tournament Results.'
  9. Persons under the age of 18 can only enter with parental consent. If entering by phone, all entrants must have the consent of the telephone subscriber.
  10. All entry instructions given are deemed to be part of the rules and by entering readers are deemed to have accepted these rules.
  11. The judges' decision is final in all matters relating to this competition.
  12. Inaudible phone applications will not be accepted. The competition is only open to residents of the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Britain and the Channel Islands.
  13. Promotional and explanatory copy relating to The Irish Times / Allianz forms part of the terms of entry to our competition.
  14. Employees and families of The Irish Times, Allianz, Phonovation and associated companies are excluded from participation.
  15. The winner must agree to be photographed and may have his/her name printed in the paper.
